RRM Testing (TS 38.533) at Scale: Parallel Lanes vs a Single Chamber

TS 38.533 is the specification for radio resource management conformance. It measures how quickly a UE reports measurements, how accurately it tracks neighbouring cells, how well it manages beams, and how consistently it handles the coordination between the physical layer and the higher-layer procedures that consume its measurements. It is one of the longest test suites in the certification catalog.

The measurement-fidelity argument, honestly

Not every RRM testcase belongs on an SDR lane. The ones that require full anechoic conditions or high-fidelity fading channels belong in a chamber, and any tester will tell you that clearly. But the ones that dominate a routine regression — measurement reporting, timing accuracy, cell reselection under controlled conditions — are excellent fits for a shielded SDR lane.
