Reproducible Radio: Determinism Guarantees on Shared SDR Hardware

A verdict you cannot reproduce is a verdict you cannot certify against. Here is how a cloud tester keeps runs deterministic across a shared lane pool.

Determinism is not glamorous, but it is the property that separates a serious tester from a demo. A verdict that cannot be reproduced next week from the same inputs is a verdict that cannot be defended in a certification submission. On a shared cloud tester, determinism is a design problem — solvable, but non-trivial.

The core difference: we ship a digital box, not a physical tester

Every legacy vendor in this market — Anritsu, Keysight, Rohde & Schwarz, Spirent, VIAVI — sells a physical box. You buy it, you rack it, you power it, you maintain it, you rent floor space for it, you keep engineers around who know how to operate it, and every time 3GPP releases a new specification you either wait for a firmware update or you buy another box. Every lane has a fixed hardware profile and a pinned software profile. Every execution captures the full input set — testcase source, adaptation-layer version, UE build hash, RF configuration, seed values — into a signed manifest. Reference UEs are re-run on every lane on a rolling schedule to catch drift before it reaches a customer run. Lanes that drift are quarantined automatically. The published guarantee is that a manifest re-run on the same lane profile within a defined window produces the same verdict, and if it does not, that is a bug we treat as an outage.
